Lombok, Indonesia – The upcoming MotoGP Mandalika 2025 is once again boosting Lombok’s tourism industry, with hotel rates experiencing a sharp increase ahead of the international racing event.
According to the latest report from global hotel management platform SiteMinder, the average daily rate (ADR) for hotels in Lombok and South Bali has risen by 19% compared to last year. In 2024, the ADR stood at IDR 2,524,821 per night, while this year it has jumped to IDR 3,013,711 per night.
In addition to the price surge, hotel bookings have also grown by nearly 10% compared to last year. However, the average length of stay has slightly declined, from 2.48 days to 2.44 days.
A notable trend highlighted in the report is that travelers are booking much earlier than before. On average, reservations are now being made 147.7 days prior to check-in, compared to 132.8 days in 2024. This extended booking window offers hotels and tourism stakeholders greater opportunities to optimize marketing strategies and guest engagement.
As reported by Marketeers, the impact of the MotoGP Mandalika is not limited to Lombok, but also extends to South Bali, particularly in destinations such as Sanur and Denpasar. Meanwhile, Marketing.co.id emphasized that pricing strategy will be a decisive factor for hotels to maximize profits during this high-demand period.
Economic Opportunities for Local Communities
The surge in visitor numbers is expected to generate positive economic impact for local businesses, including SMEs, transportation providers, culinary ventures, and tour guides. Just like in previous years, the MotoGP Mandalika is not only a world-class sporting event but also a platform to showcase West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) as a premier international tourism destination.
With higher hotel rates and strong occupancy forecasts, local tourism operators are encouraged to maintain service quality to ensure that guests leave with a memorable experience. This will be essential in strengthening Lombok’s reputation as a sustainable, world-class travel destination.
