How difficult is the Rinjani Trek?
The trek is considered moderate to challenging. Good physical fitness is recommended, especially for the summit climb which involves steep volcanic terrain.
Do I need trekking experience?
Previous trekking experience is helpful but not mandatory. Beginners with good fitness and strong motivation can join the trek.
What is the best season to climb Mount Rinjani?
The best trekking season is during the dry season, from April to December, when the weather is generally clear and safe for trekking.
What should I bring for the trek?
Recommended items include:
- Trekking shoes
- Warm jacket
- Headlamp/flashlight
- Small backpack
- Change of clothes
- Gloves & hat
- Personal medication
- Sunscreen & sunglasses
Is camping equipment included?
Yes, all camping equipment such as tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, cooking equipment, and toilet tent are usually provided by the trekking organizer.
Are meals provided during the trek?
Yes, meals, snacks, fruits, tea, coffee, and mineral water are provided throughout the trekking program.
Is there a porter service?
Yes, professional porters will carry camping equipment and logistics. Guests only need to carry personal belongings in a daypack.
How cold does it get on Mount Rinjani?
Temperatures at the crater rim and summit can drop to around 5–10°C, especially before sunrise. Warm clothing is highly recommended.
Are there toilets along the trekking route?
Basic toilet facilities are available at some camping areas. A toilet tent may also be provided during the trek.
